Software Engineer/Developer In Japan Bad Career
First of all, this is probably in the completely wrong SE (maybe it should
be in The Workplace?).
Anyways, as someone who is currently pursuing his M.S. in CompSci and has
always wanted to live in Japan, naturally I have been entertaining the
idea of getting a dev job in Japan after graduation.
But then I started to do a little research, and from what I can find
(which isn't much) software dev is generally a horrible career in Japan.
12 hour work days for, if you're lucky, the equivalent of $50k a year.
So my question is, is this true or were the forums and other sources I
found incorrect? And, if it is true (at the risk of turning this into a
discussion), why is it true?
